Thinking about it I'm sure I got a Virtus Precision sticker off James when I did my DSC1, so maybe he stocks them as well? Will give them a shout they are only an hour away.Try the Yew Tree direct from Richard. Failing that and if you have to I think New Avon Arms near Bristol stock Fox bullets…… I think.
Yes I'm sure it'll be fine, just trying to find projectiles to mess about with to find what I want to use going forwardI would say a 30-06 would be more than enough to deal with a copperhead.
Hi,Hi
I'm after Fox and Virtus .30 heads to try in my .30-06, any advice on where to source them?
TIA
Hi,Hi,
If not too late, please email Virtus. We have 125,140,150,155 and 180GR projectiles in 30Cal with three types of terminal performances depending on your needs. We can also direct you on load data and all our projectiles will soon be on the QuickLoad data base to help with working up some loads.
That would have to be an extremely small fox for its head to fit down your barrel. The only way I could see it being possible would be if you were to use an unborn foxes head, but that’s getting very strange. Why not just use some rws evolution green lead free bullets, they shoot realy well in my .30-06 schultz and larsen 150grHi

I've only ever heard that they are incredibly messy bullets them RWSThat would have to be an extremely small fox for its head to fit down your barrel. No, not in my experience, they perform very well, similar to a cup and core lead bullet. The evo green rws is just a copper jacket with a tin filling and an expansion point on the melplat.I've only ever heard that they are incredibly messy bullets them RWS

You can order direct off Virtus, I use in my 6.5 and 7mm for deer, shoot really well and have fantastic stopping power
Could you please explain why your bullets, from what I can learn from your website, out perform Rws evo or other duo or treimetal bullets?Yes sir. You can order direct from our website. Please send us an email if you would like to discuss the specifics before you order so you get the best results.

That's brilliant.Calling Bullets, heads
If find it quite sad in a way, this dumbing down and use of descriptive words rather than proper nouns.
I don't think it's stupid I believe it's ignorance (as in, lack of knowledge or information) it only becomes stupidity after the information and knowlege has become readily available and use continues.
Other disagree with me on that and think it's 'clever' to use a descriptive word cos 'they know' what it means and so does their clique.
Are people not taught grammar any more and the 'use of words'? Those that use the term 'head' are often 'taught' that this is the right term to use by resellers and even members of what is a technically orientated and source of knowledge, this group/forum.
Perhaps it has also been brought to the front by American films when the hero asks for more 'bullets' when he actually need more 'rounds (of ammunition)'.
I've never heard any member of the forces use that term in reality, it's always been 'rounds'.
Bullet has then become synonymous with a round of ammunition and the need for the word 'head' has evolved from that.
It's mainly come from resellers who don't need to educate their staff and avoids a waste of time at the point of sale.
Evolving is good, evolving from a start point that's fundamentaly wrong, isn't good at all.
We (as in the group/forum) hit a new low recently (IMO) when a member was selling 'Heads' and 'Tubes' and this was actively supported by the owners/moderators (yes, some of you will be glad to hear, I got my post removed and 10 schlaaps to the back of my head, twice ...)
What next, 'tube bottom separation' ?
Pointy heads ?
Metal heads (well they're not lead are they) with a ring round their middle.
30cal tubes ?
The flingy thing on the bolt, you know, the tube chucker ...
Learning the proper noun isn't that hard and helps everyone. The explainer to explain in a precise and understandable way and the listener to comprehend what is going on.
Made up/descriptive words only serves to exhibit lack of knowlege which isn't wrong, or bad, the first or second time, but after that's been pointed out (as it typically always is, either directly or subtely) to continue does show a lack of respect.
After all those who are relating the error are typically trying to educate, some directly (you mean Bullets ? - Bullets, the head holds the primer or do you mean war head? You going to war?) and some indirectly (That would have to be an extremely small fox for its head to fit down your barrel - I always associate head as being on a mammals shoulders - Projectiles ?).
Haven’t read the website. But Bullets like the Evo which use a zinc, tin or other non lead fragmenting core are in many ways no better than a lead core.Could you please explain why your bullets, from what I can learn from your website, out perform Rws evo or other duo or treimetal bullets?
