.308 for foxing

I'm going to play around with the Hornady 125gr's and see how they do.
I may try VMax 110gr's as I have some Vit 110 and they are a lot cheaper than the Hornady.
 
Is it legal in the UK to use a .223 bullet in a sabot in a .30-30 or .308 Win? Do any of you do that?
It is not necessary to stoke 50-gr bullets up to 3,600 fps; you can load them up to .223 Rem speeds, or down to match the velocity and sights of a .308 with a 150-gr deer load.

They are legal but in my experience with them they are not accurate enough and nowhere near as accurate as the 110vmax ?
