.375 H&H Rifles

I was looking for one two years ago my options were Winchester mod 70 , Sako and CZ 550
At the end I found a Winchester mod 70 classic super express in mint condition shot less than 20 rounds from new for a reasonable price. I heard Sako 85 had lots of issues with extraction. If you find a mod 70 go for it or a CZ 550 with an American style sock. Do not go for the hog back stock the recoils is horrible ( had one in .308).
The mod 70 I have is absolutely lovely to shoot. It pushes rather than a slap. I took my first red stag with it in the UK. I’m a massive fan of mod 70s I have three of them now 0E7B2279-7FD7-4DD9-9532-D379F9BA93E7.webp

That. Or a CZ550/Brno 602. Try to handle them all and see what fits best. I've got a magnum actioned 550 you'd be welcome to try if you're ever nearby. It's in .416 Rigby but the stock and action is the same.
I had a Brno 602 in 375 hh and used it on one trip, got rid after missing out on an animal of a lifetime. Put the cross hairs where needed, safety off and nothing but a click, and target vanished into cover! bloody backward safety.

It is possible to replace the backward safety with a 3 position safety

Yes it is . I've had a couple of 602's , one in 8x68S and one in 375 H&H . I loved the rifles , the 8mm was a bit of a pig weight wise , but hated the safety . It was a number of years ago , but I bought the three position safeties from a company in Oregon , the name of which escapes me at the moment . Solid old rifles .

How does the safety fit in with the stock AB,IE any large gaps? Is there any need for stock material removal?
Last one can you find the link lol...I would like one on my 602 10.3

The guy I bought mine from was , I may be wrong , Lapour ? They aren't available anymore if I remember correctly . There is an outfit called American Hunting Rifles that does a Winchester Model 70 type 3 position safety . I've never used one , but they have had good reviews . Whether they ship outside the US is another question .

The AHR saftey is very good

Though a little labour intensive to fit and get operating reliably (as in easy to set and operate)

I did no that. What with?
American hunting rifles make a safety to go on the 550/602 shown below in the white. They need a bit of fettling to get them to work ( eh @Ronin !!)🤣
