Great news for everyone who bought this scope from us recently - we discovered a way to perform a firmware upgrade that SIGNIFICANTLY improves functionality of the scope.
Most important changes that it provides:
1. Miles easier zeroing with ability to freeze the frame and then adjust the crosshair.
2. Zeroing profiles, where you can have your reticle calibrated to different distances.
3. Wider selection of reticles, including graduated ones.
4. Proper battery gauge when using rechargeable 3.7V batteries that we recommended above.
5. WiFi enabled - you can see the feed from the scope on your phone and copy files wirelessly.
6. Multiple languages, and significantly improved menu system.
7. Much faster startup time.
To install the upgrade you need to download firmware here: https://webassets.hikmicrotech.com/global/asset/92e16624d72a47649e65ed1643a7e1a8.zip
1. Unzip the downloaded package, and locate a file called digicap.dav
2. Remove the battery, connect the scope to a computer with the supplied cable.
3. Copy digicap.dav to the root directory of the scope drive.
4. Power down the scope with the button, and then power it up again.
5. The scope will boot for about 20 seconds, and then display "Updating..." in the middle of the display. Let it run to completion.
6. Then the scope will reboot, and in about 30 seconds it will report "Updating firmware...". Let it run to completion, it takes about 10 minutes.
7. The scope will reboot again. Go to the menu (new menu already) and press down 12 times, until you reach "Reset..." option. Perform a reset. It will say that reset has failed in the end, but it is needed to complete the process anyway.
8. Power down the scope and power it up again. It will display HIKMICRO as the boot logo and signify that upgrade was successful.
All new purchases from today will be supplied already upgraded.
