Definitely agree, it's a very capable unit, don't be fooled by the low priceMore than capable
At short ranges for an airrifle the simple method I have found to work is:
Get a piece of cardboard or thin fibre board (Something that the pellet will actually go through) and a small piece of lead or stickybacked lead roofing repair stuff. I use a 25mm square. Stick the lead to the board and angle the board backwards (looking up towards the sky something like 15 degrees) It will then produce an easily visible heat signature for the scope to detect. Fire your shots and the pellet penetrating the board or cardboard will leave a heat signature long enough to make adjustments. No need to heat targets. Hope that helps.
Simple way just cut a square of sticky back plumbers tape, did mine in three pellets.

Just dropped for one too...thanks for the recommendations. Excited but slightly nervous. If its in any way near a LH25 i'll be delighted for the price!
Looks very good to me so far but if you want to publish videos they are low res - and not filling a smart phone screen enough to rotate from portrait to widescreen on wifi.

Initial impressions are good. Very good. Know bugger all about thermals if im honest but this more than meets my needs. Easily identifiable dog walkers, dogs and rabbits on the gold course yesterday. Using as a handheld spotter with the mount removed and rubber eye piece folded back on itself. Very solidly built and from my research almost identical to the Hik Thunder TH35 (at nearly £2k vs £399). Im extremely happy and wouldnt hesitate to reconmend to othere. Excellent service from the people at IO too. Would happily buy a second if i had any use for it (free 3yr extended warranty too!)

Ive just had it outside and Im very pleased with the quality feel and operation and performance of the unit.
Its much more compact than I was expecting and will suit my Ruger 1022 perfectly for some bunny bashing. If your after top end resolution for extended range/identification then you will need to spend a lot more but I would be happy using it to approx 150yds on a fox.

Bought one of these for my son to use as a spotter - must say an impressive little unit for the money.
Just an FYI that my unit has two battery options - 3V and 3.7V.
A standard 3V is a CR123 but the more powerful 3.7V and the same size is a 16340.
Anyway, bought some 16340s from Torchy Batteries, fit and work fine and having tested two sets while playing about, both sets lasted almost exactly 4 hours (batts were new and only fully charged once)

You'll have to excuse the shaky footage I was sat in a high seat and had nothing to support my arm whilst playing with the focus & colour pallets.

The end of this field is just over 300 yards from the gate I'm resting, on the futherest rabbit is fairly close to the hedge so maybe 280 yards.
As an old parts/stock clearout quarry locater at £400 its a massive steal, especially for subsonic shooters but I'm not surprised HicMicro pulled it because of the very low resolution in what was apparently a £2K device. As you can see its not a good idea to zoom in at distance - the Leverit is about 120 yards. I'd say don't buy it to study wildlife.
I don't think I'd want it on a centrefire.
