As long as you have a suitable use for them with justification you will be granted them. It's down to you to prove the need.So it is possible to got slugs on a ticket

410 slugs are not solid as suggested earlier by someone. They are only 1/4oz.
They are perfect for the job suggested by the op. Very often accuracy is minute of rabbit to 40-50yds
On a side note....I have never understood the UK's attitude to shotgun solid ammunition for hunting with. The whole world uses them successfully but in the UK they are for some very vague reason frowned upon!
Completely illogical if true. I think you are right to some degree but it is completely stupid. As is archery banned from hunting.probably because in the eyes of police it starts to expand the number of “rifle” owners into the only shotgun owners

Not if you’re lucky. I sourced and purchased a Taurus judge in .410 limited to two shot a while back.A .410" firing a slug will be pretty much the same effect as a six inch revolver firing a .41" S & Magnum. Indeed with a good quality strong .410" shot pistol it'd probably be a lot less aggravation to go down that route than asking for a conventional (restricted to two shots) pistol or revolver and FWIW a lot more versatile. But nowadays sourcing a decent single shot true .410" shot pistol of a similar quality to the Harrington & Richardson Handy Gun in that calibre I once had might be difficult.
Thanks Enfield for the reply I already have a 410 shotgun I was hoping to use that with a slug but my firearms enquiry officer is not very keen on granting me a slug on my ticket
Please explain FWIW .

That looks a very handy bit of kit.Monty
You have a .410 and a .308 how can you demonstrate a need for slugs, genuine question; you have all eventualities covered, you need to have a chat with your FLO around need not convenience or desire. As has been stated ricochet risk needs to be addressed.
Just to spur you on, this is my 12g slug group at 60 yards with open sights.

This is a .410 Brenneke 1/4oz slug for comparison, very tiny but in a Yildiz single barrel, good for 30 yard groups.

This is my .410 over and under, breaks clays on the skeet range and comes out for dispatch when needed

My RFD has one, thinking of putting in a variation for rattling around buildingsSnakeslayer .... nice.
Did you get that in the UK ?
Most 410 slugs are 1/4oz. 110gn.Out of interest, a 20g Winchester x slug weighs in at 666g, how does that compare to 410?
