Hi all anyone had any experience with these factory lead free rounds at all I’ve picked some up in a few calibers only tried the 6.5/55 so far I’m not 100 % on the results on deer so looking for anyone else’s experience with them
Below is a 130 6.5 out of a red at 200 yards
cheers

ahh
your using the blue tipped ones
mine are the earlier version with the rounded aluminium tips accuracy is fine just not sure on the knocking down on done deer ive taken with them

yeah im on 130 in 6.5/55
ive got blue tipped in 9.3/74 and 270
just not tried those yet

I have been out to check the zero on my Rws titan 6 in 6.5x55.
I have tried S+B 142grn HP . It's shot like a shotgun
Then tried S+B Blue Energy 120grn SP.
Two shots touching third shot same hole

I believe the 110 grain .308 load was intentionally a low recoil type of load. It is using the same bullet as their .300 Blackout 110 grain load. The full power equivalent is the 165 grain TXRG.

I belive the first batch into the UK did not meet the speed requirements.
Interestingly the latest batch delivered to my RFD last week still show a Joules muzzle energy of around 1540 ft-lb, but the website states 1800+.

Maybe it’s old new stock, what do yours show on the box out interest?

The ones I had matched the lower energy shown on the box over the chrono from a 20” barrel but that was a while ago.

Out of a 21" barrel.
Only one fallow runner and it rolled down the field . Short distance woodland stalking 30 to 70 yds. 5 rounds left

Lately have been using both my 6.5x55 one with s+b copper day night scope the other with a stranded scope with lead.

In what way are you not 100% with the results can I ask ?
Just don’t seem to have the knock down of lead I knew they wouldn’t have
Less meat damage I will admit as they are just passing straight through some of the deer
And I’ve only ever found 2 lead soft tips in over 30 years of stalking so it’s probably me just over thinking these things being honest was just trying to see if anyone else had experience of these heads and what results they had with them
They just don’t seem to be opening up as advertised I’m going to try the newer blue tipped ones next time out just to see if there is a difference between the two
