The 20 bore shells are also available as subsonic but the moderators are also bigger and heavier and more front heavy . Both shooting the same shot size and weight they are equal ! Its just the 20 could push a heavier load .
20 bore guns without the moderator are brilliant , my daughter shoots one in an auto and has brought down geese on the foreshore with hers ! Me? i prefer the 12 if needed as i can still shoot twenty bore type loads in the bigger case .
remember all a bigger shot load does is give you a higher pellet count on target , with equal shot size and type they have similar velocities . Its harder shooting though as when your dealing with say 14 gram of 6 shot you have less balls of death in the air , a modest 12 bore load would be double the pellet count .
