5 months old Bracco - time to start training .

So the Bracco is now 5 months old and firmly installed in the home. The women decided his name is Bruno (Bruno the Bracco ) , 'Bruno Big Balls' or 'Your Bloody Dog!' Depending on his most recent behaviour. He seems to grow constantly and is now almost the same size as my fully grown GSP bitch.

I must admit that he has a great temperament and is naturally intelligent. He's already trained the wife better than I ever could .

Real training starts this week. Training beyond walking to heel and sitting on command. Just thought I'd post some pics .

Can't describe it any better. She feeds him on demand, reserves a whole sofa for his sole use, buys him his favourite nibbles , cleans up after him without a moan and even bought him a fur blanket, just in case he feels cold in a centrally heated house !

My Mrs is dog groomer, just dog mad... Showed her photo on sofa, asked her to guess age "Not very old" she says "He's only got a small willy!!"

Not any more. Bugger isn't a year old yet and he nailed one of the bitches . Owner wasn't impressed .

I got him from a guy running a bird of prey centre in Durham. He has about 6 of them which he uses for falconry .

Is there an update on how he’s turned out as a deer dog? How much work does he do? Always been a fan of the Bracco but I don’t know any which are full time deer dogs. Would be interested to hear from those with experience
