55gr Nosler BT, Vit N140 - .243 Load

Got hold of some Nosler 55gr BT in .243. I also have N140 powder.
Was just looking to see if anyone has any load data.

Have done some research and was thinking of starting at 39gr and working up to 44gr.

First time using N140, have previously used H414.

Thanks

I used h380 in my 243 behind a 55gn nosler. I have got rid of the rifle so it was a few years ago but if I remember correctly n140 is more suited to the mid-heavier range of bullets in that cal.

Vit N140 generally too fast a powder for .243
Better off staying with H414 or Vit N160,

Not for light bullets it isn't, in fact N160 is far too slow for the OP's application which is why viht list 140 and not 160 for 58 gr bullets

Fair shout..
Only ever bothered with 87gn bullets and above for .243
Always used .22-250 for lighter stuff.
(No one powder will perform well on all bullet weights)

Very true, wasn’t suggesting it would, 140 would be good in your 22-250 though for the heavier end (assuming you shoot a 1:14)

From my notes I was using 41gr N140 with a 60gr Sierra Blitzking. accurate and no signs of pressure but then I only put 3 or 4 through the rifle as an experiment.
Seemed accurate enough but hardly a quantitative study.
