6.5x47 load data

I understand RS60 is the same powder as R17. I tried it in a 6.5x47 with 123g bullets and CCI 450 primers and got excellent performance. Concerns regarding throat erosion are I believe real, so I will only use this powder for hunting and use single based powders (Varget whilst my stock lasts and N140 thereafter) for high volume (target) shooting

I have struggled with R17 in everything I've tried it in. Just can't seem to make it work. There is also an issue with increased throat erosion with these new double base powders.

RL 17 is magic in. .220 Swift.

Just a bit of info for anybody thinking of this cartridge.
My 6.5x47 with its 18" Kreiger barrel and 39.5gr of Varget produces the same MV (2993 fps) as my 260 rem, 20" barrel and 47gr of H4350, with the same 100gr bullet.

Found it mty : 123 Amax , 38.5 R15 gave me 2812 FPS .

New Barrel on that now Paul and using 123 smk. new barrel is giving 2865 with just 37gr of RL15. 38.5 was fine for that barrel but I would reeccomend you start load dev at 36.5 and step up from there. Dead easy calibre to tune
