Thought he was in New Zealand?Because it’s only legal for munties and CWD in England.
And, the small fact the rifle’s already built!

Now that’d be a barrel burner…!!!Ah I got all excited for a second. I'd prefer 6mm necked down to 204 as a hyper velocity night time varmint/vermin rifle...
He is.Thought he was in New Zealand?
25-45 Sharps and 6mm/.204 are wildcats, but there's a bigger and maybe better CIP-registered cartridge known as the 6x51 ATZL.Any one built and using one of these? Or experience with one. Chambering and reloading with one. Thinking of 80gn copper at around 3000fps. N133?
I am thinking of re-barreling a mini Mauser to one.

That's a cool cartridge for sure.25-45 Sharps and 6mm/.204 are wildcats, but there's a bigger and maybe better CIP-registered cartridge known as the 6x51 ATZL.
Few know of it. This is another straight neckup, but this one is of the 5.6x50 RWS Mag. Available as a calibre option in Blasers, and as a standard chambering in a micro-action from one or two custom rifle- makers. CIP drawings are copyright, so the link is here:-.
204 isn't going to satisfy the OP's requirement to shoot deer, unlike the 6-204 he's interested in, though.Late to the party .. I have hmr/ 204/ 22lr/ 22-250/ 243/308
204 is hands down the king .. Sako varmint fluted barrel /set trigger .. NOCPIX 50r .. barely get anything else out the cabinet
204 Beats the lead ban .. low smoke barely any recoil .. quiet at night ..
Just recommissioning my 308 for non toxic
On deer ..
204 is a Lazar 32 vmax .. perfect !!

I may have missed this - have you got a photo of a loaded round? After a year or so I'm impressed. Not ideal past 350m on deer, but thoroughly adequate inside that.
This guy took a 69 grain copper through the shoulder at about 110m and fell over within 5m. Exit hole shown, it went in through the shoulder blade on the other side.

This was 172m and just folded.
