Have any of you guys ever used Reloader 17 for the 7mm Mauser , have been using H4350 but im down to the half tin . I use a 139grn hornady interlock bullet.
Any info would be appreciated

I developed a load for a chap with this chambering last year - used N140 and 140 gr Nosler Accubonds, very consistent round. He took two hinds in Scotland soon after and both were 300+ metres and both perfect shots.

Since 4350 has gone, I have gone to Vit N 550, which is certainly a good performer. I know it's a double based powder, but Vit. have gone to some lengths to over come that problem. Bear in mind that 414 and Win 760 are also double based, and we used those quite happily for years.

RS60 is exactly the same as RL17. Look on the reload Swiss web site there is some load data for the 7x57 mauser.

I'm using RS52 for my 7x57 loads with 130g Fox bullets. Very good success. Try Ed Bewsher at Edinburgh rifles - he did the basic load recipe for me from Quickload. There's not a lot of data on the RS website, but I believe they're good about responding by email.

Yes been working on some loads recently with RL17. Trying to get 140AB to shoot well but havent quite refined the load yet! Good velocity but hoping to find an uber accurate load. At the moment only an inch but going to try some different bullets.

I found N150 gave 2,800fps with the 139gr Hornady interlock bthp. The advantage it has over RL17 is it's much easier on barrels. Obv 7x57 wears a lot slower than a 243 but unless you really need that extra 100fps I'd give it a miss. It toasted my previously fine 243 barrel in about 150-200 shots.

What the man said 👍
If you load a 7x57 hotter than that it becomes, well not a sweet shooting, soft recoiling, blessed by the angels 7x57 anymore.
Christ, you might as well buy a 270. And then where would you be? Appalling really.

Cheers thanks just about to run out of H4350 saw that N555 was the replacement in burn rate. Hence the question.
