Held away at 0900 with a strong chilly wind and snow showers forecast.
Covered 2 places with a fine mixed bag and then finished off at a pond in a wee blizzard which made for exciting shooting.Teal numbers were unreal and as usual they were not the easiest of birds but for once the shooting was acceptable.My favourite time to hit the ponds is the first few days into a hard snowy spell and it rarely fails to bring numbers into the ponds.
Although Buck has been busy up to now he's usually just along for the ride but these last 2 days he has been independently working and an amazing wee dog so far for 10 months.The pond had a wee skim on it but he didn't need any encouraging to get the 4 ducks from it before i let them both work the rest that were in the cover.
