I probably know the answer to this but will seek opinions anyway
In the farmyard I have an old cattle trough which collects rain water which the dogs regularly drink from and which I use for watering in the greenhouse. Thus

All good so far. But if you look at chimney above it you will see lead flashing (I assume it is) and interestingly no moss or lichen grows on the slates below it

I also have a rain water butt for same purpose, below skylight also with lead flashing

So, what are your thoughts re dogs drinking at trough and me eating lbs of produce from greenhouse in last 10 years
