A Dog Fox and 2 Bucks

The weather and work has played a big factor with my planed visits to this particular farm of late, out comes the sun shine also the sprayer!!
Perched up in the cab the farmer has a good view of what is on the move, he is keen to keep on top of the deer and foxes.

The dog fox was wading through the growing wheat on the other side of a hedge to my left, with no shot I wound the Z6 back down and started calling as he went quickly out of sight....
Classic charge by a hungry fox was stopped by my 95gn round, he was not in very good nick as the other side of his face was down to the skin.

I did wonder if the noise had rattled the small wood close by, half and hour later with the scope wound back up a small buck was picking his way through the wood, he stepped on to a small mound then turn side on and over he went.

With plenty of light left I retrieved the buck then set myself up in the branches of a fallen Ash rather than walk across the front of the wood, 5 mins later a small doe walked past around 10 feet in front, she looked stamped her foot and trotted off!

Then the big lad decided to show! Nice big neck made a good target in the fading light....
Deer in the chillier, livers in the fridge and the fox back to nature...

Well done, days like that make waking up in a morning more worthwhile. And glad to see you put s hotting the fox first rather than letting it go away incase you scared the deer, not many would do that unless under instruction.

Keep up the good work...... and I hope you dragged the fox 'the right way' lol!

Good read nice when the day comes together.
