A GREAT Weekends' Fallow with R&R Sporting

I was very fortunate to receive an invitation from Richard at R&R Sporting to join them for their last high seat cull of this season, last weekend. Essentially, the ground is a livery, overrun with fallow, not far from Gatwick with some lovely sloping field around a winding wooded valley. The owner has been plagued by increasing fallow numbers and now brings most of the horses in for 12 on a Saturday and turns them out at 12 on the Sunday. R&R provide 2 sessions for 10 guns, one on the Saturday afternoon until LL and then from FL on the Sunday to noon. Boy are they plagued with fallow! One gun saw a group of over 150 fallow merilly grazing and I cannot complain, my Saturday session had 2 lively bouts accounting for 4 with my neighbour taking one too from each bout. A total of 22 for both sessions - less than normal but they are quite wary now and dog walkers didn't help!

Great company, superb banter and, with fish and chips (thank you Spike) sat around the fire on Saturday night with a beer - what more could you want 🤗

Thank you Richard and Spike :tiphat:

Good result there, well done 👍

Assume by the screen shot that one was white? Just interested :)
Yup, but it lived to see another day - bullet struck the branch! I was tracking it along until it paused - sadly too late.

Out at the weekend where white fallow are not "on the menu" and I fully understand now why they are left as they do provide damn good markers of where the group is!
