I think that’s just the software using key words to find “similar” petitions. Same key words entirely different context![]()
One click to support that man to not be sacked by the Biased Broadcasting Corp... Only had 317 votes

I followed one of @Orion 's links to Change.org and signed what I thought was the petition but was not able to leave the site unless I made a donation...
Was that a scam site? If not a scam who or what is the money for?
Alan
Can’t say I took any notice. TBH I don’t usually sign these things at all.One click to support that man to not be sacked by the Biased Broadcasting Corp... Only had 317 votes![]()
No surprise that there is a cost. Change.org is a private profit making US company which basically exists to harvest your data, let me guess, you had to give them an email address to 'confirm' that you had signed?
All the petition sites require an email address which you then confirm your "signature" by replying to the email they send you otherwise they couldn't count...but I have signed a petition on Change.org before and there was no request for money...just wondered who or what the money was going towards, I wasn't clear.

l don't see 20,907 posts saying "Signed/Done!!" nowhere near it....
lt's no good sittin' on't fence waitin' to see how this pans out and cryin' into your tea mug. When it's all gone will be on YOU!!!
BTW.... Signed/Done!!

Done, but why all the talk about donations ?
Its voluntary not compulsory, same as sharing it, they ask but you don't have to do it.
I never do for shooting related stuff as I feel facebook is not the place for it.
Neil.
I found it by scrolling the page, iirc it was just off the bottom of the page. I was on my phone tooNever having been asked for a donation on petition sites before, I was simply querying where the donations were going to, I couldn't find an explanation.
Maybe it was because I was on my phone but I seemed to be in some sort of loop of either "post on Facebook or donate"...and initially couldn't find a "not now" option button to leave the site.
I do not engage with Facebook so maybe that was part of my problem?

JARHEADSDone but I think we need a new name for antis - something more fitting to show their lack of understanding.
Without going into name calling, something that puts the emphasis on their lack of knowledge rather than emotion.
Never having been asked for a donation on petition sites before,
Alan
That particular service have been asking for donations for several years now. They will also ask again each time they sent an update, just ignore them.
I think it is only the governments one that doesn't ask.
