A truly waterproof shooting mat

I’ve found this useful and waterproof

Ta folks. Needs to afford me some cushioning, as often shooting off stony, hardcore type shooting points. Water must (ideally) run/wipe off.

Arktis, expensive, bulky and very comfortable, never had seep through yet
Folding "para" kip mat, less bulky, more narrow than above but more compact and easier to carry
Ebay "tactical" shooting mat, thin, cheap, compact, so far dry
Aldi tarp, as above but cheaper still.

All have so far kept me dry and the arktis and para also kept me warm, the other two can be irritating in a breeze, but a thoughtfully placed rock on bag usually solves the issue

Aye, the wind that tends to accompany these inclement days is a thing worth noting. Heavy is fine by me.

The old issued green roll mats “fighting in the barracks for the use of” are fine.

Buy one of those and plaster it with roofing membrane.

It will be slippy if you have fleece type outlets on though

Some good offerings, ta folks.
Current mat wasn't exactly Temu/Wish, but it's still drying now....

I dunno if u have to carry it far.

If not too far from motor some types of cow matting are ideal.
Some types can be quite heavy thou and other lighter types might not roll up..

Another randon suggestion but free/cheap is proper astro turf of fitba pitchrs/sports centres. Esp the really long 'grass'.
Some farmers get it for laying on tracks for dairy cattle to help there feet.
Once u knock all the sandy/rubber type stuff out quite light and would roll up easy.
Bloody heavy with all that stuff in it.

I can vouch for the AiM. I’ve had mine 15 years and it pools water in a downpour. Doesn’t let water up from the ground and folds up in a manner which means you down have to walk on it. Looks the part and comes in a neat bag for storage. I got mine at a game fair on a special buy. But would certainly spend the money again.
