I saw a stag crossing a clearing to some hinds.Couldnt get a proper crack though. A robust hind then sprung me and stared for 10 minutes as I was on my knees doing the roo thing. She went and so did I and ran into this pair that saw movement....me as usual.




This illustrates how impressively built the sambar hinds are.



Teach them young eh..calf tail up in solidarity with mum although in these pics its down. They then moved 80 yards uphill and vanished into heavy bush.

Do they ever chase the roos off? Or visa versa john ? I gather they get along fine in the same area?

Harmony mate,its no problem. The roos are back to fronts for alerting th edeer to danger thus the deer take heed of the roos.

No there are no restrictions NF. None at all on size/sex/ or number. No I dont shoot `roos. I have previously under property permits where numbers are high.
