Wouldn’t bother - you’ll struggle to get the money back on that scope
I did wonder about that too....Just wondering, the scope is still within the 30 year warranty & they’re not charging you for the defective/damaged reticle, so, why are they charging you the labour to replace it? Either it’s under warranty or it isn’t?
It does make you wonder...this Swarry scope was bought by me, and one of the main reasons was the warranty...My Meopta 6x42, which was ancient, had a similar defect, the recticle had slipped, no mention of the scope being dirty inside unlike my Swarry, maybe Swarrys way of charging for labour ??.....it was sent back to Meopta, and returned a months later with some warranty ,. total cost of the repair was £134.....which I was happy to pay...Mine came back last week. All in all the repair took about a month and a half.
After years and years of reading about cost free repairs or relatively low costs of repair the sudden increase of repair costs makes me wonder though. Had it something to do with my scope coming back to me from Germany even though I sent it to Swarovski factory in Austria.
Hiya, The scope was on my 270, which after getting covid in March 2021, lay in my cabinet unused, till this year when I sold the Browning and looked through the scope...it was in a in a cabinet in a bedroom in a heated house, ...so, cant really think of any neglect apart from not using it.Just looked at your original post photos, the state of the lens is shocking to say the least! My thought' the cost charge MAY' have been instigated by an image of neglect? (I appreciate your difficulty at that time) Had you noticed the lens picture failing and sent it in, a repair may have been free? Glad it is ready to go again for someone.

Nope it’s not, I sent a pair of 10x40 slc away for a service as one lense had become slightly blurry.I think it's only the Binos now which get their full parts and labour warranty
That's why i bought Swaro for the rifle. Yep, at the end of the day Swarovski use Schott glass (Owned by zeiss). That was Swaros 1 thing! Now gone, people will go to the superior Zeiss and Schmidt Bender etc if the ‘free repairs and service’ is no longer

Yes I had the rangefinder button fail and the focus wheel play up on my EL 10x42s. Mech parts done FOC and minor cost for new button and fitment. Came back prompty and immaculateNever hesitate to get in touch with Swarovski if you have a problem with their products. I have had first class service every time, old, second hand, they will sort it out if it needs doing. With electronics now, things may be different?

I'm glad you guys have had good experiences with Swarovski, but so far, mine has been abysmal...I did get an email today from the Customer Services Dept, saying if I haven't had a notification for next Wednesday that the scope is repaired or starting repair to contact them again.....that will make it 8 weeks exactly since paying £235, before the work starts.... Like you, I'm getting the parts replaced FOC, and only paying for labour...2 hours work was billed for. hopefully when it does finally return, it will be like a new scope....I recently sent off a 1.6-6x42 scope with a mushy elevation turret. >£200 later..... they needed to do internal cleaning and replace some bits. They said the parts are covered by 10 years warranty, so I'd need to pay the labour only.
I paid 3-4 weeks ago and received an email today to say they've started working on the scope.
