Advice please Scottish Lockdown

Nonsense. You're making up rules that don't exist. Nowhere in law has the Scottish government specified what may and may not (in the covid context) be sent by post.

Grandkids are getting birthday presents, grandmothers are getting Mills & Boone, dogs are getting chews, and ladies are receiving their dildos.

The post office keeps us connected while allowing us to stay apart. That's why the government is keeping them open.
I didn't say anywhere that Scottish Govt had stated what may or may not be sent by post. Neither did I say or imply that post offices were not essential

I stated the law (from Saturday) about the reasons you may or may not leave your home.

If people want to there is Government guidance as to what is essential or not.

Is someone wants to post, for instance, a part for a machine that is currently not used and does not need to be used in the near future them it is stretching the imagination to deem that this is essential and is certainly not in the spirt of the law.

The law does not require that posted items be essential. It is that simple.

you are correct, but what it does require is that your journey outside of your home is and that is the simple point I have been marking.

All operating normally, but s bit slow. But not that slow....
Are you sure, I'm still receiving Christmas cards that I know were posted well before Christmas, seems to be
quite a backlog our post is being delivered about an hour and a half later than normal.
So things are slow and late but they are open.

No it doesn't but going to post them is ,our illustrious leader announced yesterday that as of this coming Saturday
only essential journeys will be allowed those making nonessential journeys may be charged these will include those
doing anything nonessential while on an essential journey.
The trouble is as usual lack of clarity I can go to the Post Office to pay my Community Charge or my Council rent those are supposedly essential so what is essential as from the Saturday the police can stop you and ask where you are going
and what you are doing if they do not think your journey is essential you may be charged at their discretion.

Oh how you wish you lived in this lovely free country of ours.

I actually have no problem with the rules its the lack of clarity that bothers me.

See above debate. Am too lazy to repeat it. :D

Be aware that an English Court order is unenforceable in Scotland unless you engage upon a very expensive litigation. The Scottish civil courts are effectively closed for what in England is known as small claims. I would advise "give it up as a bad job" and make a Voodoo doll

No way will i give it up, what and let him have someone else over, i don't give in that easy, im a stubborn bas...d. :thumb:

Who is validating the relative 'essentialness' of the posted items? The post office? The police? Someone else?

Many online businesses use post offices to send all sorts of items (from dildos to dog-chews). Are these exempt or are they also checked by this army of mail-rummagers?
I wouldn’t want to be opening your mail chum!!

If your that determined you will have to apply to the Sheriffs Court nearest to his home and request a Simple Procedure Application. The procedure is far from simple and litigants in person are scorned in the Scottish courts. The Civil Sheriffs courts are very formal, The Sheriff sits in wig and gown and is addressed as My Lord. All the court staff and lawyers also are formally dressed and the language is archaic. To instruct a Scottish Lawyer will cost about £1000 an if you will you will only be entitled to £150 for costs. Not withstanding the above I wish you luck and you will discover Scotland is a foreign country, which often comes as a surprise to our fellow Brits

As Jockstalk says above tell your man to use the PO collection service, I wouldn't think Fife is too far in the sticks.
Works really well when your not allowed out!

Well the latest he recons he has posted all parts, after a bit of searching i found he had a suspended prison
sentence for 3 years a while back for fraud, so the threat of legal action hopefully spurred him on to cooperate,
fingers crossed it will all turn up .
