Yes, this was in Mozambique.

Yes, there was a roll-top bath, in the middle of the jungle.

Yes, the water really does come out of the taps that colour.🤗

At the lodge we rented in Sutherland the water was that colour too.

There was also a roll-top bath, but of such great age that the enamel had worn off and therefore you emerged cleansed, tanned and exfoliated all-in-one.

I believe we exported these habits to the far reaches of the Empire.

This works well for me in Africa...a Verney-Carron brown hat bought from Decathlon which my small boy stood next to my father in law is wearing having borrowed it from me. Lightweight, waterproof, a nice dull colour NOT "jungle green" or "cammo" as some African nations get very upset if you wear "quasi military clothing", comes in a variety of sizes and inexpensive. Decathlon and its Verney-Carron or Solognac brand is your friend when it comes to hunting wear hats!

Following on from @Stalker1962 's tread on boots, what is the collective opinion on suitable hats for Mozambique in October?

I seem most PHs in photos wear a baseball hat but I wondered if anyone has any better options. I know there are a lot of options out there!

Why don’t African hunters use straw hats?

Shocker. That would screw my open sights aim up no end. It’s bad enough I can have target OR bead OR backsight IN FOCUS AS IT IS. November going to be interesting. I need a large target very close !

I have a Tilley and am waiting on a a Rogue but they are having some delays with stock.
I’ll report back on it as it’ll be the first one be seen in the flesh.
