Air fryer advice

I'm thinking of going all modern and getting an air fryer. It seems a two drawer type is the most versatile, and as I'm on my own I don't need a huge model.

Has anyone any perticular reommedations as to make and model?

I have a Daewoo twin drawer model. Each drawer is independently-controlled so I can cook two domestic at once (steaks in one, potatoes in the other, for example) Cost around £80 I think?

Best tip I can give you is to buy silicone liners too? Otherwise the removable trays end up in a right mess

I have a double ninja which I cook roast chicken, sea bass/bream comes out perfect.
There are a few egg on toast hacks.
A friend did a muntjac back leg which came out very well.

I bought, new, at a chattels auction an Andrew James halogen oven for £35 about two and a half years ago. That, a halogen oven, might also be an alternative? It seems very energy efficient and, if needs must can accommodate a smallish turkey.

Mine is black not white but otherwise the same. It also can grill sausages, bacon, and chops. Being essentially a large glass bowl it is also easy to clean. Just be careful when it is in the kitchen sink to swing the tap mixer head to the side when taking it out the sink.

It won't fry chips but will cook oven chips and as it is an oven do jacket potatoes and roast potatoes.

Ninja dual draw 👍 think they do a model that has a built in meat probe so you can cook roasting joints / steaks to perfection if you wish

I second that. I like that you can synch the 2 drawers so that they finish cooking at the same time.

Set the timer.
Frozen sausages take 11 minutes at “ fry “ setting, not the default 20’
I mean using the probe. Says ones thing but the meat seems like it should have read that about 10 minutes earlier (I hate over cooked red meat)

Don't put a paper liner in for the pre-heat unless you want to fill your kitchen with smoke.

Don't ask me how I know ......🤦🏻‍♂️

I don’t have a probe, but after 2 batches of cremated saussies I worked it out.
It actually cooks stuff a fair bit faster than the oven, grill or pan.
It’s a bugger to clean. I don’t let it get dirty anymore 😃

Having used a couple, including the ninja, I would say they are all a much of a much-ness..

Just make sure you get one with a decent digital timer and control panel..

I use ours (2 drawer) at least 3 times per week.
Great for chicken, chops etc
Also fish and chips from frozen.
Got it from Aldi a couple of years ago.

have a look

I have a ninja ‘foodi’ which works as an air fryer, pressure cooker and a slow cooker.

It’s good at doing all of them and efficient on cupboard space and cost as a 3 in 1
