Air Fryers

So I recently bought one of these to see if the fuss and hype is worth it. I was certainly sceptical.

Pleasantly surprised. Versatile little things that cook stuff in 1/3 of the time of an oven and whilst using less than half the power. So definitely a good price saving to be had when I imagine like me, most of us don't think about the cost to turn the oven on.

I live alone, so this little thing is great for me but you can get bigger ones. Last night I cooked a burger on the standard grill setting. It comes with a little griddle iron that you stick in the bottom and boy oh boy was it a juicy burger. Cooked through nicely with a lovely red tint in the middle. Perfect medium rare.

For less than £100, it is staying on my work top. It also does amazing sweet potato chunks or other veggies. Tiny drop of oil, bang it in, 10 minutes later perfect food. Excellent for lazy people like me who finds this time of year difficult to get organised with food. Winter I am fine with as the lack of light means I find more time to do stuff but at this time of year, it is easy to find myself playing golf or shooting until dusk and then get home and never enough time to deal with proper food prep. It has made that easier now.

Couldn't agree more about Air Fryers mate! The wife had one given to her last Christmas and she says it's the best thing that she has had as a Christmas Gift for a long long time. She uses it almost daily to cook so many different things (You need to experiment as they really are so versatile) Now the oven is almost redundant - And what a saving on energy and cooking time it is. I love Sweet Potato Chips rather than normal potato chips and the air fryer does them wonderfully in half the time. We certainly would never be without one now!
Sidetracking a little we also have a slow cooker which gets used a fair bit too for stews etc. When we were working together in the fields all day I used to love putting a large jointed rabbit (Which I always shot and prepared myself) in the slow cooker along with plenty of chunky cut root vegetables and some draught (Still/Scrumpy) cider (Instead of a stock cube). I could turn it on and set it on low in the morning before we went out to work and have one of the very best rabbit stews you could ever imagine waiting for us after returning home from work in the evening - Served of course with thick cut buttered crusty bread (Preferably a Tiger loaf)!
God how I miss my rabbit stews!

Great things 😎 now you are air fryer brethren the rule is you must go forth and convert at least 3 people to the way of the air fryer.
We're trying, honest Mate, we're trying - At least on here we are!
For those wanting to know more about Air frying here's a video with a few recipes. (Kerry The young lady doing the video looks quite a tasty dish too ;) )

We discovered them about two years ago, since then about 6 family members have got one. Weve had three now, the best thing EVER in a new air fryer is - fish fingers for a fish finger and tartar sauce sandwich 😍

Aye me and the missus haven't turned on an oven since getting ours earlier this year.

@The Singing Stalker we do chips in ours, I think the key point is to shake them regularly (every 5 min or so) and don't over fill it too much. Chips come out lovely
I do chips too, a spoonful of oil, a good amount of paprika, mix them up 200.c for about 30 minutes, as you so rightly said - shake them regularly is key👍

I've recently found out that our air fryer makes fantastic pigeon jerky . It's so easy , even I can do it.
