The HW40 is lovely but the Beeman P17 version is a carbon copy, half the price and shoots just as well apparently (not that the HW40 is all that expensive) - these are single stroke pneumatics rather than springers though.

I’ve always wanted a HW45 and don’t think you’d go wrong with one. Then you’ve got various Hatsan, SMK and Milbro models to choose from. The Hatsan looks a bit like the old BSA Scorpion and the reviews look good.

I had a hw45 for a while in 177 and was not impressed. Especially when I took it apart because I really struggled to shoot it.
The piston seal was not a lipped seal affair common to their other airguns but a simple flat plastic disc that was not even a snug fit in the cylinder. It also had sealing issues at the breech.
The one I bought wasn't a patch on the first ones made.

Or

Or one of each.

But an older Webley over barrel air pistol will give decades of fun, but even the new Tempests are still good.

I second the HW45. I had a standard .22 about 25 years ago, I even took a rabbit with it at under 8m using a rested position in dense long grass. I now have a .177 silver star version, lovely to shoot and again doing over 5 ft/lbs when tested.

I killed a rat with this last summer.......177 CO2 with 5 shot magazine. MV 490fps.
About 4 metres distance, one shot fired off a bag.
