Well folks theres one sad shooter here,over the last few yrs my luck has been a bit **** really,after loosing jobs then health troubles resulting in zero income,ive ended up selling stuff just to get by,vehicles so no transport to get out to shoot and anything i can,anyhow i had a visit from firearms and an ultimatum concerning my rifles an pistols,use em or lose em with the threat of a raid with everything,FAC's airguns and shotguns being siezed,with no open ticket and no way of traveling the 30 miles to the range and nobody living near or willing to help,with a heavy heart i made the decision to give all the FAC stuff up,got only scrap for everything,kept my s/guns an airguns,i do have some reloading kit for the 308 wamadet portapress ,dies,lee autoprime, lee hand press,and a couple of minor bits.
So there it is i'll be building and shooting my airguns at home and pest control if i can get a local perm that i can cycle to, an do clay shoots and other shotgunning if i get chance,had my fac for 40 odd yrs and had my fair share of fun,so on that note i will probably not frequent the site much in the future though my interest isnt diminished.

I am sorry to read that you are in a wee bit of a 'trough' at the moment.

Do not underestimate the joy you can still get, from shotguns and airguns.

If you will forgive me saying so, I think it would be a mistake for you to reduce the 'frequency' of your visits to this site.

I happen to think that (by and large) this forum is a force for good. Also, I suspect that there are many on here who will shoot an awful lot less than you do.

Judicious use of the "Ignore" button, (if appropriate) - I would recommend it against my name for a start - and just reading what you enjoy, can be informative, amusing and remind you that in whatever capacity, you are still part of a 'community'.

I do hope that things will improve for you.

Keep at it g s jon, Life is tough and hopefully shooting your air rifles will help you pull through it but whatever happens don't give up what you love doing

In the current economic crisis which is only going to worsen , you won’t be the only one cutting back /out expensive hobbies.

I’m glad you can still use shotgun’s and air guns for relaxation and sport though.

Just remember, never say never. You gave up your FAC it was not revoked so if your circumstances change you can reapply without any issues. Enjoy the air rifles.

@gs jon I am very saddened to read this. If it's any consolation, I think taking small game with a break barrel air rifle is just about the most rewarding hunting I've ever undertaken.

It's much easier to get to within 125 yards to put an HL shot into a deer than it it is to get to 15-20 yards to shoot a rabbit in the head.
