Alpex 4k reticle question

Hi. I was out with a friend today helping to zero his new Aplex 4k

After bore sighting, the reticle was off by a county mile to the right. We zeroed the scope but I couldn't find any way of returning the reticle to center whilst on base mag

Is there something I've missed in the settings or would this be a digital scope compromise? Is there anyway of setting the scope up to bypass base mag and switch on displaying the next mag up which I think was 7 something?

TIA

Theres the always-centred reticle option I can't actually remember if I had that option on or off when I zeroed mine and my friends but I know I had it zoomed in to see the bullet hole.

I selected that option but nothing changed!

Ill have a look at mine here and see. What scope mounts are you using?
He had the scope in optilocks. He was happy to leave the situation as is but I can't believe there's no option to get the reticle back to centre with all this tech lol

Mine appears to be in the middle, however that may just be luck!?..

Is it on a Sako or Tikka? If it’s a Sako he should be able to move the front mount base forwards or backwards along the tapered dovetail to centralise the scope along the bore centreline.

I believe that on base mag the aim point is where it is and can't be moved . When you zoom in and the scope is set to always centre the scope will move recentre the aim point as it has the spare room around the aim point to do this...if you get what I mean.

Tikka so no moment unfortunately!

I set it to re-centre and it does exactly what you've said once you zoom in. I was just hoping I've missed something and it could be re-centered permanently on base mag

I’d imagine that at base mag you’re viewing the entire field of view from the camera, only when you zoom into the image is there enough ‘surplus’ image around the periphery to allow automatic centering of the image on the screen. Perhaps flip one of the mount bases around 180’ if possible?

Did you select the blue option, when saving the settings after zero, i went down to rifleman range to zero mine, it was all over the place, i ended up leaving in embarrassment.

Haha yes I did. Before going out I watched numerous videos and that was one point I made a note of. I'm not unfamiliar with setting these things up, I have a steller and assumed it would be similar which it was. I was just thrown when the reticle was so far off. My old thunder was off slightly but this is ridiculous. If it was my own rifle and scope I'd certainly be trying different mounts/rails etc. I was hoping to provide my friend with some info so he could rectify the issue but it looks like he's stuck with it, on base mag at least!

I was under the impression that when the scope is at base magnification the reticle can't be centered. It's not until the magnification is increase that the whole view can be moved in order to centre the reticle.

I'd be checking the rail on your friends gun since it may not be aligned with the action
Digital scopes show up any misalignment between the barrel and the action, the rail and the action and the mounts to the rail in a way that glass scopes simply hide

Cheers
