Alternative to Rovince anti tick trousers?

Hi all.

I have some Rovince anti tick trousers which I like but find them a tight fit on the thighs. Wouldn’t say I have massive thighs but these seem to be a particularly slim fit. I could probably live with that but more annoying is the fact that it is then quite hard to put anything in the pockets as their isn’t space and phones etc are uncomfortable

so anyone noticed the same and found an alternative that is a more relaxed fit with the anti insect / tick treatment E.g I think Harkila do one but haven’t tried them

I use the deerhunter summer trousers (can't remember name of) which have stretch panels in the right places and are a good design. I spray permifin or however you spell it from Life Systems in a sprayer off amazon. Seems to work!

i sprayed my lightweight jacked, shirts and trousers with it this morning.

@surrey stalker you could try some BDU (Battle Dress Uniform) trousers. The older American military style trousers - you can get them in just about any flavour colour you prefer (olive, coyote, black, grey, camo etc) and they are a generous cut. You can additionally get them in a multitude of fabric - from 100% cotton to 50/50 nylon/cotton and a range in-between.

You can then get Lifesystems Permethrin spray and spray them up, which will last a good few cool washes.

They're hard wearing and have a very generous pockets, something which the Harkila and Fjallraven stuff seem to lack.

Just avoid the very cheap brands like Mil-Tec, have a look at the Helikon range.

Did you go a size up? I'm sure I remember reading somewhere that the sizing is 1 size small... might be why?

No and I think that might be part of the issue - fit is fine per waist it is just the legs are tight. Would size up if I bought again

Harkila trail trousers I use and their very good, light and comfortable. They have an anti bug coating but I’m not sure how good it is in comparison to the rovince stuff.

Get the ripstop version to save sowing up encounters with barbwire fencing.

I went up a size in fjallraven and have just treated them with No Tick solution from Bushwear, simple washing machine job 5% Permethrin. Seem to be doing ok so far.

Helikon trousers tend to come up big so may need a size down so worth ordering 2 sizes and sending 1 back so you get right size first time.

The cargo style trousers are nice and roomy but shopping baskets catching on the cargo thigh pockets are a pain in the ass! This still happens with the fjallraven but not as much...I must remember to separate domestics from hobbies

Throw some no tick wash over them and wear a set of trousers twisters around the bottom.

+1 for Helikon. I've got 2 pairs and they're superb for the money.

Subscribe to Military1st.. they do decent discounts a couple of times a year and you can pick them up real cheap.

I bought Rovince trousers and softshell jacket recently. The jacket is fine but the trousers were a very strange fit, tight in some places and baggy in others and I am a pretty average guy. I sent them back. Since then I have spoken to several people who have all said the same. The trousers seem to be very much the weak link in the Rovince range.

Have a look at a website called Military 1st. At first glance it seems to be aimed at wannabe Blackwater types but they actually have some great products and the service is excellent. I have a few items by Helikon and Pentagon and they are great. Just be honest with the sizing, if it says ‘athletic fit’ and your level of athleticism is Darts player or wrestler maybe go a size up!
