Annealing machine

I have one of these:

Very happy with it :thumb:

The caselife is also a good machine, despite having plastic wheels and a slightly larger price tag. I’ve seen both in use and it’s a difficult decision to make.
If cash or bling is the issue, Ugly is the way to go.
If made in England then it’s the caselife.

Both are an improvement on my home made, but not much.

I dont do faceache
He’s on UKVarminting - that’s how I got in touch with him. Very high quality product- excellent machine for not a lot of money. Struggled initially to find the right flame/nozzle - very little info [that I could find] out there. Bit of trial and error with timings. Tempilaq is a massive faff - I ended up old school going by dark cherry glow and a metallic/light grey shoulder and neck finish. Some will roll their eyes but I’m happy with the end result. Couldn’t justify spending 5x more on an AMP - Lubo’s annealer was €280, delivered, last year

Yes I was in contact with him on that forum also.

I've ended up going with the ugly annealer, as it comes with all the calibre inserts FOC.

What torch/nozzle did you end up with, as I'll no doubt need to work this out also

Bernzomatic UL2317 is good too, nice fine flame. The knock offs available on amazon under the same model number are half the price and just as functional

I knocked up some brass wheels for my .243/.308/.270 :tiphat:

Oops - that was pre-mod. This is post mod:

Or there is the budget modification. In this case using aluminium heat resistant tape from Screwfix.
Not as pretty, but it's cured the problem and the first application has lasted for just over 100 cases so far (there's another 20 metres left on the roll).IMG_2471.webp

Really with this little unit and would highly recommend it.

Easy to setup and use. Quickly de-primed some old 223 cases to use as initial setup and ran them thru.

Was only planning on doing 10 or so cases, but the wee fella came in and decided he wanted to have a go at de-primimg. Safety specs on and all 50 were ready to have a go.

Took me around 3 cases to get the timing right, and then at around 4-4.5 seconds I found perfect for 223 brass. So all in around 5 mins and all 50 cases were done.

I tried it with some 308 cases and they took around 6.5 seconds.

With a rifle build in the works by our own @Ronin I am thinking that its maybe time to get an annealing machine of sorts.

Previous I was able to get plenty and still have plenty of free brass from mates who don't reload for my 223 and 6.5CM.

With the new rifle being built in 6mmXC I think I would be best taking care of my Norma brass that will be once fired from factory ammo that I managed to source.

I was looking at 1 from another forum from a member Raptor Calls which looks decent for the money.

Is there any others out there that would be worth a look at without breaking the bank.

I'd hazard a guess at around 500 rounds per year would need doing.

Thanks
A couple of years ago I imported a Bench Source Vertex Annealer direct from the manufacturer. It was substantially cheaper than buying in the UK. The price here’s seems to have gone through the roof, so probably worth checking out.

Has anyone used the one made in serbia called the AGS brass case annealer?
On the bay at £205 delivered to UK then shafted for multiple charges by RM I imagine.
I have one and it works pretty well, but to be honest I largely get my mate to use his AMP as it’s much easier!
