One of the big arguments for the lead ban is removing lead from the environment, water of roof flashings is contaminated with trace elements of lead, especially as rain is naturally slightly acidic.

I wonder how many roofs have lead flashing? Though I imagine that the compulsory removal of lead flashings and roof wouldn’t win many votes whereas shooting is a minority sport.

What could i possibly add to that Case winning Science based argument ?

Get used to the fact that each and every MP for whatever party only does what the party tells them. None of them are there for the members of their constituency so literally take no notice of whatever we shooters say. If they acted purely in the interest of voters they would soon lose their steady little number and pension. They toe the line and dance to their master's music.

The politicians only do what the big boys/paymasters tell them to do.
The politicians are just the money men’s bitches. Money and who controls the media make the world go around. Look no further than the world economic forum.

you can look up the voting record of any MP online , see what they voted for and what they voted against ! Everyone should look this up at least their local MP before election time

means nothing Lead is still absorbed into the blood , its not actually the lead pellet being swallowed that matters so much to humans in a short enough time we will deposit that into the toilet. Lead particles seem to be the concern as these can be taken in by the body and the blood that transports it to the brain etc where it does its work . Tests on people born after the ban on leaded petrol have proved this kind of thing . Back hundreds of years ago we realised this kind of thing happening with the white lead based make-up and in my own childhood with pet budgies picking at lead based paints . If you with to fight the ban on lead ammo you might need a lot more swatting up

I did say it was the compounds of lead that are bad news, lead pellets are not.
I dont need to swat up on lead, I know enough already.
I was instrumental in the difference in lead use in Scotland compared to England, if it was up to the basc and the government lead would have been banned for all wildfowling, as it happens it was not necessary then and still isn't.
As I said lead is toxic, but lead pellets do us no harm, the same CANNOT be said for iron! you need to swatt up on how little we need to ingest to cause issue! just think about this- if people suffer from iron toxicity by taking over counter supplements, what going to happen eating pure iron and letting gastric acids work on them?

I understand and respect Smellydog's views on this matter. However, I will abide by the laws of the land, even if I do not agree with them. My point about not calling lead "toxic" is that to an outsider it appears that for over a hundred years the shooting fraternity has been blasting animals, and the countryside, willy nilly with noxious materials. There are enough people stacked against us as it is. I prefer not to give them any more (steel) ammunition.

i promise you i have had soo much steel pass through me i might be possible to magnetise . However there is absolutely no denial of lead being a major risk to health , we need to pack that angle on things away . The biggest risk with steel shot ( actually its Iron technically ) is broken teeth from biting down on missed pellets

Not sure that would actually help, eliminate the known anti gun labour lot, then the greens and other undesirables and all you get left with is more of the same Conservatives. We have no real opposition or choice and as has been said they vote as they are instructed or their own personal ego, agenda regardless of the facts, to ensure their survival and fat pay packet and nice pension. Not sure I will actually vote, it’s like turkeys voting for christmas.

We have no real opposition or choice and as has been said they vote as they are instructed or their own personal ego, agenda regardless of the facts, to ensure their survival and fat pay packet and nice pension. Not sure I will actually vote, it’s like turkeys voting for christmas.

Dont look dont know . Now here is a thing because Conservatives have brought in a heck of a lot of anti gun legislation also with Labour. How dis your mp vote on these matters ? Do you Not want to know for sure ? How about promising to One side yet casting their vote the exact opposite in other matters ?
An MP cannot hide where they cast their vote on matters but we must remember to hold them accountable for broken promises given when they want your vote

Really you need some leverage with an MP . Someone who is having difficulty with FAC renewal etc they see as a potential time bomb in their career . If your not in a big shooting area unless your MP is himself a shooting man your bound to encounter difficulties I suppose
Very much agree we have the very worst MPs in British history , Most of them career long starting as political aids after Univocity and not after Military service or Success in buisness
