Antlers as dog chews?

Anyone give their dogs antlers as dog chews?

I know cast antlers get eaten in the wild but I'd have thought they would be a bit hard on a dogs teeth!

Having had the embarassment of explaining to two clients why their lovely trophies are now in a million bits, mostly inside my GSP, all I can say is that I now encourage my dogs not to chew antlers! JC

I also remeber a set getting eaten and they were bronze medal class the guy was gutted as a mates terrier ate them on his way home.Could not have happend to a nicer guy.. But the dogs dont seem to suffer much when eating them.

Mick, my old dog ate a gold medal when I was in Hampshire. I was drying it in the shed and she got in whilst I was littering in the garden! When I give the dogs deer heads the only thing you might find may be an odd tooth.
