Any Mechanics on the Forum? Problem with wifes car.

Thats a new one on me I think in my case the electrics go to the temperature sender unit which is mounted close to the thermostat, standard thermostat in my car. If yo look up QH thermostats you may be able to find one that opens up at a higher temp that will fit.

While it won't do any harm, any constriction in the cooling system is much more likely to cause overheating rather than overcooling.

Not so. My old Volvo had a by pass valve to direct heated radiator fluid into the heater core. Don;t know if this car is like that but flushing the entire system flushed out what ever part of the heater core was clogged and the car then produced heat. The car ran cool otherwise. ~Muir
