Any pipe smokers on here?

Yes, if too strong they can make you a bit rough.
I was quite ill after putting 2 in at once after 6 pints of some 8% stout...

Yup. It was obviously the snus

Something similar happened to me with a "dodgy kebab" one night after an all day sesh at the local highland games....

I was fine with just the ale but the flush of nicotine didnt mix well with it.

Savinelli do make stunning pipes.
That looks a similar shape to mine in a different finish. Lovely.

Next for me is a short straight billiard or apple just as a quick smoke pocket pipe.

They don't describe it as such but I would describe the one I've bought as a bent apple. I think it's my favourite shape. Thick wide bowl smoke really cool and it has quite a fat and wide stem that sits really nicely in the mouth without straining my teeth. It looks much better in the flesh than that picture because the fill-in flash has washed the colour out. In real life it's much more vibrant.

Only slight concern is the stem seems to turn rather too easily in the shank. I think it might firm up a bit with use though.
Otherwise very impressed. My first Savinelli. I definitely be looking at others.

Not a pipe smoker, or a smoker at all but this chat takes me back to the years when it was common.
Found this picture on a different site.
Thought it might be appreciated here-

I packed up smoking a good while ago but when I smell someone smoking a pipe I still get some really strong urges to buy a pouch of Black Cherry Pipe Tobacco and fill my old Falcon Pipe - And it certainly does take a fair bit of will power to resist the temptation!

I'm on the cherry vanilla as I type....

I've never smoked a pipe and don't think I ever will but find this thread interesting and some of the flavours sound amazing😀
My uncle used to smoke a pipe, probably cheap **** but I was always fascinated watching him poke and play with the tobacco as he was chuffing away.

Many, many years ago:old: I was doing some work for a guy from London who smoked a pipe. His tobacco of choice was called Sweet Peach and the aroma was so pleasant, I asked him where he bought it as I wanted to try smoking it in my roll-ups. He ordered it from a tobacconist in London and got some for me on his next order. It smelt wonderful but didn't smoke too well in rollies!!

You used to be able to get a finer cut version of the Sweet Peach, suitable for roll-ups. It was very pleasant, but always a bit too moist.

Probably just as well that I never knew that back then, or I might still be smoking. I gave up about 20 years ago and would never want to smoke cigarettes again, but the smell of a really aromatic pipe tobacco does, occasionally, get me thinking:-|
The upside of my work for this gentleman and his partner (besides the Sweet Peach) was that I got the Roe Stalking on their newly acquired softwood plantation.:thumb::tiphat:
