It all seems a bit hit and miss I've heard more bad luck stories than good news ,I've a big 50 trip to organise and was considering a driven boar hunt ... Nahhh I'd be gutted if it went tits up which seems highly likely if the various posts and threads are all totted up !

No trip is guaranteed but if you stick with a reputable organiser, and a pricing model that works for you, then you should be fine. I met a couple of other groups at the airport who'd also had good trips with good organisers. I'm sure there are far more happy hunters than not!

Think I'm going to have 3-4 days on stags with an SD member from here I want the "50" to be special he's got a pig or two so might try sitting for a pig under the moon .
I'd like to go one day driven boar same with Africa but I always get drawn to Scotland ! I'd need a passport first anyways

I have being hunting in Croatia since 2006 and some years i shot 1 and others years i shot 5 or more and one year I shot nothing but I enjoyed every trip.

Most definantly that's hunting I've guided enough to know there is no dead certs with any form of fieldsports but there does seem to be some cowboys ready to rip a green horn like me to bits I'd do my homework before parting with the £££ certainly helps having the SD to size up the many outfitters out there .
a pal of mine went some yrs back with a well known Internet program host and was given his weapon for the day and 3 bullets yes 3 ! It certainly steeled his resolve to aim true !

I was in the Basswood group before Dom, our group was mostly hand picked by Frank and I.
Of the 14 guests only 2 had never shot with him before, some like us have done so many times before.
Anyone can hit and run, repeat business sure fire sign of a reputable organiser,

In open area that is what you can expect up to 50 boar over 3 driven days with 12 people that where packages at that time , if appetites are bigger only way is to reserve year in advance big fenced areas, even if you do not see fences there are somewhere otherwise numbers can not be guaranteed .

But some people can not shoot boat a all and after it expect to have more chances than usual ...when I WAS YOUNGER... I would take blame on me in order to please client, now 3 bullets = 1 boar and guide next to each hunter so if boar is there and you do not pull the trigger can not complain and try to ruin our hard earned reputation of being rock solid driven wild boar provider

50+ Boar in a wild free range trip is hard work unless you use the best areas, but that costs a lot.

It is true , boar hunting trips are priced according to daily bags and only way to increase daily bags is to increase numbers of party members or increase budget for boar trip. My best hunt was 116 boar over 4 driven days with 14 hunters long way back before economics where shaken in Early December 2007. All 4 days in enclosed areas. In open areas I need 20-25 hunters to cover areas properly with only 2 drives per day it is sometimes boring to British shooters if there was no enough action. So I am growing old. For open area boar hunting you need to have client that will trade 2 boar in fenced area for 1 in open area and there is few hat will recognise difference ?? It is sad but most of Africa is also fenced and if you are going for plain game it is different story but 2 weeks hunting holidays are long behind us

simple really, anyone any experience of African Big Five ... my 40 th birthday is approaching but need something up market not to much problems please... 5 star hotel , not more than 2.5 h transfer from airport, Direct Flights from the UK and inside of 2000 GBP that I have budget to this hunt. If you let me down I will be your lifelong enemy and you better close down your businesses if you can not deliver the standards that I described above.

how much was this day , 1000 GBP or 300 GBP ??? 50 BOAR PER TRIP OR PER DAY , IN 12 YEARS OF TRADING I NEVER HAD GROUP THAT ORDERED 150 BOAR OVER 3 DAYS BUT PLENTY WITH 30-50 BOAR PER TRIP

DO NOT MIX FACTS, WILL ASK ADMINISTRATOR TO REMOVE YOUR POSTS FOR SPREADING UNTRUTHFUL COMMENTS, SHOW INVOICE IF YOU CAN PROVE IT , IF YOU CAN NOT THAN PLEASE DO NOT TRY TO PLAY SMART. People that complain on our hunts normally have some serious malfunction. Not sue if you can read properly and even if you can d it not sure it come to be registered in your small brain

if you want to book good hunts look November / December with Deposits Ready in January, In April you will find only cheap places not worth going ... only if you are looking for affordable driven wild boar packages but in this options numbers can not be guaranteed whenever you go

One word....

Avoid!

We did two trips with them! First was to an enclosed area where we were promised 50+ boar between a party of 12 of us. We did see and shoot a few but nothing like the promised numbers...quite a few of the party were very disappointed. We complained when we got back and had a "discount" on another trip, we which took....

Second trip was a nightmare where we saw and shot less than 4-5 boar per day between a whole party of us. We kicked off and were taken to another area where magically we saw more boar but not in the numbers promised!
Many of the group didn't even fire a shot in anger!
Accommodation was a run down roadside motel!
The chap who runs it appears to fall out with various landowners who then seem to end up chasing our shoot organiser for payment. There are also some very very unsavoury characters who own and run some of these estates. The sort of people who know where the bodies are actually buried!
So...be warned.....typical of many of these outfits...promise 50+ animals a day and will deliver less than half of that. If you do book make sure you book an enclosed area otherwise there is a lot of standing around in the cold for a fleeting glimpse of the arse end of a boar!!
Also be warned he will try and sell you various pheasant, partridge, dove shooting, a luxury yacht or a Croatian castle/villa!

In another post you mention 50 boar among 16 hunters / in your own post 12 hunters .... can you make up your mind how many hunters where there on this trip, how many boar you miss, how many you wounded , how many where too fast to shoot at, how many where to far away, how many you could not hear and how many others noticed on your left and right but somehow they pass unnoticed by you. After all be honest how much you paid for the trip and how many boar your shot for this monies and after this time we can go on an on and compare different packages and different outfitters. Those that have the most shooting opportunities complain the most - real disgrace for the sport to write comments like this. Tell me how many boar was shoot by Artemis or Basswood or some of the new boys , 4-5 per day with group of 15 hunters , this is average in open areas for our competition for the last 2 years while each of our hunters shot on average 5-6 boar per each hunter per each trio, people are quite, rebooking with us and do not talk much ... keep secret for yourself but some of you are overstepping limits. There are few of you that still owe me monies and I was soft in the past but if you shoot over your limits and if you do not have funds to pay in cash for additional bags before leaving Balkans believe me you will stay there until all is paid since I have no more nerves for people that do not have means for shooting boar and want to come on Lasarotta hunts that are among the most expensive and so far the best available according to most of the UK shooting pres

Bogdan,

I'm not getting into a "he said/she said" argument via the keyboard with you. I actually shot well on your trips but there were many members of the two parties on the two separate trips that didn't even see a boar. One chap even ended up in a high seat above a pile of maize to try to get to see a boar.

This is the UK. We can leave positive and negative feedback on any site or forum as we feel inclined to do so. I do not owe you any money so please do not imply any threat to me or anyone else.......that behaviour does tend to be frowned up in the UK and by site administrators.

I'm sure you have many satisfied hunters...perhaps they would like to provide us with their experiences, I can only provide you with what I and my friends experienced on two separate trips with you. Perhaps you may care to ask why we have not booked to hunt with you again?

Anyway...I draw a line under this discussion.
