Anyone coming to Dortmund 2013?

Too bad... This time I will only be there on Saturday and maybe Sunday... Anyone from the directory there to meet?
It would be great to welcome some of you here on Germanys biggest game fair!!
:tiphat:Michael

I probably go on the wednesday. Definately worth while. I will be looking for some snowcamogear and some warm socks. :-D But plenty to look at, even some fashion shows with girls and dogs ;).
If SD members need help with translations or want to meet up give me a pm.

Leave your mobile phone numbers with Rene Wiese on the SfA stand (tracking equipment) if you fancy meeting up and I will call you to arrange a meetup as I am planning on going by train up from Bavaria to it but I am not sure which day but sure to not be on Sat-Sun though.

Hi everybody!
I got home safe, just a 40 minutes drive from Dortmund, pockets emptied, no money left
I met Ruudi and a few more nice guys from the directory, it was another very impressive game fair, just a few new things, but a good place to go to check for details on gear and equipment, to meet other dog handlers, to talk to friends and business partners, and for me: To meet people from the Directory!
I will post some pictures on here tomorrow, they are on the iphone yet, sorry....

Hi Micheal,

Youre pictures do not reflect the fair completely though. There where 8 halls filled with hunting related stands.
What i liked where the many and different build high seats so you could get some new ideas for youre own build. I liked the Subaru SV in real tree blaze orange, pity about the tiny boot (i drive a outback myself). Attented 2 presentations about red deer age recognition and deer tracking with dogs which was fun and educational. Looked at all the different breeds of dogs (oh boy would i like one myself !). And (because of the cleverness of a mate of mine) got in at a reduced price (i am dutch:D), got some nice presents and beers at the Wild und Hund stand from Paul Parey because i am subscibed to several of their magazines. Got some new snowy camoclothes and DVDs. Was tempted about the Swarovski bino's with range finder but found it too bulky and expensive for my taste.

I never get quite used at the many head/shoulder and full mounts and pictures of shot animals in the outfitters hall. When i walk pass it it feels a bit like a cemetary and that there are no animals left. The only time i can relate a tiny bit with anti hunters. But then again, i also buy dvd's where animals are shot in.... (maybe it has to do with the commercial aspect):suss:

Our little team from Lincolnshire got home on Friday night very late. As H&H says the scope of the show is massive, the Germans really seem to have hunting in their blood and this is reflected in the quality on show. I don't know if it is a sign of the current economic situation but by close of play on Friday I noticed quite a few prices being marked down. Will deffo be there next year. Chris.
