Are there any UK 17 Squirrel owners out there?

I am also making .17 FMJ bullets that do no damage to something you want to eat.

Yes, they are based on the 22 Hornet case. Very easy to form Squirrel cases as well.

Hi greencurly. I have a .17 Squirrel, my first was a Cooper model 38 I think. I brought it about twenty odd years ago when Dan cooper actually owned Cooper firearms.
I then had a CZ chambered in it by Mike Norris about ten ish years ago. I had to make the Proof House some cases and provide some load data for them to Proof it.

No case head separation I'm pleased to say. I am annealing fairly regularly though.

I pretty much only shoot 20g lead/soft point bullets at a reduced velocity. Head shooting rabbits at a maximum of 100 yards for meat. I load 5.1g of 1680. I get best, most accurate results with this reduced load using pistol primers and RWS/SB brass with the small flash holes.

I went at reducing carcass damage by investing in a Corbin bullet-swaging setup. I make a 20 grain full metal jacket bullet. I can maintain velocity and use the same load as my 20gr V-Max.
