I have recently collected my wildcat 17 Squirrel, it is a great little calibre, similar to the 17 HMR. When reloading is your real hobby, this is a marvelous close range calibre.

Great FMJ bullet. Are they commercial?
Yes, they are based on the 22 Hornet case. Very easy to form Squirrel cases as well.Is that based off the 22 Hornet case?
No idea.Great FMJ bullet. Are they commercial?
No case head separation I'm pleased to say. I am annealing fairly regularly though.Had any cases pop their heads off yet?
Did you used to frequent Saubier?I pretty much only shoot 20g lead/soft point bullets at a reduced velocity. Head shooting rabbits at a maximum of 100 yards for meat. I load 5.1g of 1680. I get best, most accurate results with this reduced load using pistol primers and RWS/SB brass with the small flash holes.
I went at reducing carcass damage by investing in a Corbin bullet-swaging setup. I make a 20 grain full metal jacket bullet. I can maintain velocity and use the same load as my 20gr V-Max.I pretty much only shoot 20g lead/soft point bullets at a reduced velocity. Head shooting rabbits at a maximum of 100 yards for meat.
