Arken Zulus Question

Just an update from testing the zulus yesterday at the range due recoil turning the unit off. Tightening the battery cap a fair bit more firmer seems to have worked ..😁

Bruce, thanks for producing the “using the DNT optics…Scopes” pdf guide. I’ve had this scope a while and just migrated over to the single DNT app today, got a couple of questions or clarifications
- I’ve produced 2 Ballistics profiles for my 223 & 308 in the new DNT app
- I have two zero’s setup in my scope (although they were wiped out during the migration, I kept a record of the X & Y settings.)
- zero profile are labelled A (223) & B (308), the ballistics profile are named A.A223 & B.B308
- Both the ballistics profiles have been downloaded to the scope
If i want to use either calibre I ensure that the Zero profile matches the Ballistics profile in the scope, and use it in Ballistic calculator mode.
I assume this is correct and the switch to either calibre does not require any connection from the app (as I did previously)? as all the data required to calculate the holdover etc is now held in the scope.

However, when i go into the System Settings Menu and look at the “Version” it shows the last profile downloaded to the scope via bluetooth, which may well be different to the zero profile and ballistics that I have selected - assume that this has no impact anymore and will not cause any conflicts??
Cheers

You've done it correctly and no connection to the app is now needed
If you go into the ballistic options menu make sure you have selected ballistic calculation rather than ballistic table since selecting ballistic calculation will make the scope use the ballistic profiles you sent to it using the app (A223 and B308) rather than the ballistic table which had been sent to the scope previously

Cheers

Perfect Bruce, much appreciated and yes i intend to use the Ballistic Calculation mode. I read a lot about the unit switching off under recoil, fortunately no such issues with mine on either calibre, maybe I’m lucky enough to have the right batteries.
Once again many thanks

Hi Bruce. Sorry to be a pain but is there a link to: “using the DNT optics…Scopes” pdf guide?
cheers

good morning to the SD community, a question about the Zulus lrf, when it is connected to the phone is it mandatory to do it with both wifi and bluetooth or can you choose one or the other thanks

From what I recall from setting it up for a pal of mine:

- Wifi setting is needed for the "Arken Optics" app. This is for scope live view/zeroing etc
- Bluetooth is needed for the "Arken Ballistics" app. This is for sending ballistic table data to the scope to be used with the LRF function etc.

@Zio65 Scrap what I said above, things have changed since then:

"DNT have released an app (DNT Optics LLC) which combines the functions of both the existing Arken Optics app (wifi connection only for firmware updates and real time viewing of the scope display) and the Arken Ballistic app (bluetooth only connection to create and transfer ballistic tables to the scope)"
