Hi just got my fac and want to buy my first rifle a local shop stocks the ata turqua I can’t find to much on reviews about them has anyone here got one or had one! I know it’s a budget rifle so it won’t be as good as the more expensive makes but what I can find seems positive

If you are on a limited budget just buy something second hand which is proven. Personally I don’t like Turkish made firearms. Only good thing about them is they are cheap. Ata doesn’t have enough experience in rifle making.
There is lots of good rifles available in this site’s sale section.

I think the fact that they arent proven would put me off. The fact savage put their name to it is a positive as they generally do well with cheap rifles.

But really there are good second hand rifles that would be better for you. If you can shoot one that would be better. What calibre are you looking for?

Sadly like you I have only seen online reviews that seems too good to be true. I was thinking that the main downside her would be parts availability and no upgrade paths. but something interesting caught my eye today. They seem to introduce a new model X. TURQUA XT - ATA

Essentially if I understand this correctly it uses Remington 700 footprint so should be compatible with many upgrades. Which would make it less of a dead end platform.

I have not seen the reviews yet, sorry if made things even harder.

If built as a Remington clone, the work is already done.
It just depends on which route they went down on dimensions.

Plenty of pluses I'm terms of aftermarket parts if built on a rem footprint.

From their website:
now featuring smooth action, the highly sought-after Rem700 footprint, and the precision-driven V bedding system.

Also one of the pictures talks about:
REM700 TRIGGER INTERFACE FOR DROP-IN TRIGGERS

I wonder now if this is only a trigger specific change.
