I have had mine for almost a year now, works great on everything except lower velocity .177 air guns but that's a difficult task anyway.

I used mine for the first time this morning, captured every shot on a 14 lane range, FAC shotgun with birdshot to my right and 22lr to my left. I was firing 223Rem homeloads. Bit of finger trouble trying to upload to the App, but that was all me.

Charlie Dawg, do you mean it recorded every ones shot on your chronograph or just your shots with others firing next to you ?

Had 1000s of shots through mine now and it's never failed once. From 900fps up to 3400fps.

Only issue I had was it was picking up the lane next to me on the range a few weeks ago. Turns out i hadn't pointed it into he right direction 🤣 100% user error.

Another happy customer, put all sorts over it from 17 to 30.

Question for anyone in the know, do they work in tunnels ? i used it at Eaton Hall a few weeks back and it failed to read anything.

I’ve had the Garmin one fail to read some 45-70 loads in a tunnel, has worked fine for everything else though.

I did a bit of research into this and it will unfortunately throw allot of anomalies. I will try in a tunnel that has a 8foot high ceiling and not a 3foot x 12foot (approximately) tube

Our club is in an old railway tunnel, so fairly spacious, only time I’ve had an issue is shooting in a booth up tight to the wall.

Had mine about 8 months now. Easy to use even for complete novices and numpties. Well made and comes in a nice carry case with a sturdy metal tripod. It's the first chrono I've had so don't have anything to compare it to.

I’ve had mine since June 2025. For the first 6/7 shoots my Athlon was one side of the muzzle, a Garman Zero the other. Over 3 Calibre’s 4 rifles 223/6.5 CM and 308, both showed the same ES and SD, the Athlon a couple of FPS faster on every shot. Absolutely nothing between then.
Software simple on both (buy different) Athlon has a heavier alloy tripod Garmin lighter plastic, Athlon comes in a zit up case, Garmin, has an optional case ant others sell them as well.

USB C charging on the AthlonI can’t remember what the Garmin has

You choose one, it will work, repeatability and accuracy great on either 🤩

Used a Garmin in the pipe at Braidwood. 100%

There have been other's with Garmin who have had the sane problems. The pipes are probably 4-5 meters long by 60cm then open to the 100mtr target. Its unfortunate but no big deal. Other than that, both are a huge improvement on the alpha chrono types.

Use a Athlon in Shepton Mallet, not a tunnel but low ceiling and multiple pillars no issues at all
