Atlas bipods

Any got experience of using either the BT35 or BT72 series bipods…? It’s for range use only, needing something more substantial than “ole (Harris) faithful”.

I'm not sure they offer any real gain over the Harris other than width. I use a BT65, with spike/claw feet, which suits me putting my shoulder into it. One thing I'd say is go for adjustable cant only. Go as wide as you can for stability.
I also use an Accushot, which is very stable, again usually with claws.

Looked at the Accu-Tac.

I found the ones that mount underneath (Atlas PRS, Harris etc) that go directly to the legs are not that stable for target stuff so ended up with the Tier one cradle type and it’s night and day…way more stable.

Have a look at the FC4-G2:

I did…was trying to stay away from “pan”. Also some of the 800 M (+) steel at the range is in an elevated position. I really need 9” - 10” of bipod height.

Aye, the pan is a pain, better without. Really the advantage in the Accutac is the width, and if I could, I'd have their heavier 50 version which doesn't pan.
I have leg extensions for the Atlas, they come in handy.

The only benefit i found with the Atlas was that the legs didn’t flick up when dragging the rifle backwards. Didn’t see an accuracy benefit and it was more difficult to deploy, especially noticeable when hunting

I used a Harris years ago, nothing wrong with them and they do they're job...even the odd twang of the springs or pinching your skin in the spring can be forgiven.

I then went to the versa-pod...Great system! Qd and bombproof....bloody heavy and as wobbly as wobbly gets but a good system.

Went atlas and currently run the BT CAL, winder footprint and silent deployment. Have been tempted with the UTG Overbury bipod but not made that leap as yet.

Atlas are a great system and machining on real units is excellent
