I`ve been a member for long enough to remember previous comments re those bastard Aussie cricketers so one word today for the Ashes third game result...REJOICE.

I have also been on this planet for long enough to remember you lot winning as well.Lets hope its not soon ha ha.

..... so, took a bit of time to compose this.... currently sitting in Sydney's Hyde park having a coffee about to visit the ANZAC memorial.

I've been to Brissy and Adelaide and off to the MCG for the Boxing day test.

I picked these as thought they represented the best chance to see England win the Ashes. So a bit like England's management I made a huge 'kin mistake......

Speaking to people on the Barmy Army and just other travellers out here, there's a massive sense of frustration and anger that the team have performed so badly. Out batted, bowled and caught. Watching England bowlers consistently miss lengths over 8 days of cricket had been painful......

Admittedly the test wickets so far haven't been the bouncy featherbeds that the England bowling attack was created to deal with. Boland, Starc and Cummins have succeeded with metronomic line and length....just like pigeon bowled. England couldn't do that.

The lack of preparation in Aussie conditions was evident.... and being told they turned down a training/competitive match against an Aussie side at Adelaide prior to the series, sort of rubs salt into the wounds......

Rob Key did an interesting interview with Atherton and Nasser yesterday and they poked him a bit and he admitted the prep was bad...... and they made poor decisions. The NZ 50 over matches, the Lions match, not sending players to the pink ball 3 dayer against Aussie second string......

Noosa I don't mind - people need a break - but if the stories of just getting lashed up are accurate...... probably signals more about their mindset caused by being hammered......... and just provides Fox sports and the WA rag with ammunition......

The last 2 days of the Adelaide test showed some grit. About time. Still some rash shots (Carse when he first started batting scared the sh*t) out of me... and Smiths one too many punts to cow corner.

As a group of players they are talented enough to compete in Aussie conditions but failed. There has to be some blood letting....but the reality is the method has merit.....but playing without flexibility and one way, can't achieve consistent results. Test cricket ebbs and flows that's it's beauty. You need to play in a way that recognises that. They saw off Bumrah a couple of times in the English summer test series....why couldn't they do likewise with Starc and Boland.

Anyhoo, off to have Christmas Eve in Sydney in 30 degree sunshine (still weird) and enjoy the city.

Then on to the MCG with around 20,000 other Brits expected..... so hoping to have a bit of a better display there......

Merry Christmas!

Along with 80,000 Aussies ready to rip you lot a new one ha ha....unless you are winning.

Bring back Pigeon,I`m sure he would get Joe out.
McGrath was relentless ....... and yes if Pat can get him out with the same delivery every time, Rooty would find it tough against Pigeon. Like Athers......

Pity the Aussies don't have the songs to make it more fun though....... at least we can claim the upper hand with the supporter atmosphere....... even Travis was having a bit of a dance and a sing song on the boundary

Aussie fans don't have that culture home or abroad.....and their songs are sh*t. No imagination. 'Aussie Aussie Aussie oi oi oi'......Really??

Now, 'he bowls to the left'...... still the stand out for me. Problem this tour is there's been no bowler to make up such a ditty for..... apart from maybe the English ones...... 😆

we only need one song,it hasn't aged.....the original players have though. Viv gets done twice.

.. but makes losing so much more entertaining! 😃

..... so.....Ducketts batting has gone down hill......

video of him as emerged a bit sh*tfaced in Noosa... bearing in mind he got kicked out of the England set up about 7 years ago for pouring a pint on Jimmy's head...... he really should learn his lessons......
