Avon and Somerset firearm dept delays again

Seems like the never ending covid excuse is here to stay. Avon and Somerset are still blaming covid on their ludicrous delays .
They have a message on their answerphone saying done leave a message about variations etc . Renewals are being dealt with but not much else.
They don't answer the phone and won't even give a guide as to variation times.
I don't know why they don't give up trying to deal with it and let a civilian organisation take it off their hands, variations for similar class rifles should be a week or less turnaround with no effort needed. It only involves typing the new calibre on the license and a sign off.
 
my recent variation with Avon and Somerset only took 9 days so I wouldn't say that was much of an issue
 
Likewise give or take 9 days including post and weekend. End of August. Find the phone bit strange as never been a problem getting hold of anyone.
 
It's not here to stay they will eventually catch up. However after two years of restrictions it will take some time.
