Given that it’s your fathers and it will cost under £200 to cast, I would strongly suggest keeping it. It will be a little bit of your father when you are out and about. Memories such as this are irreplaceable.

If it truly was your Father's gun, have it fitted, take it out, and enjoy both it and your Father's memory - and then in the fullness of time, pass it down the line, it is a wonderful looking thing.
