For Sale: Aya no1

Looks like a very nice gun with good wood. However, there looks like there is a piece of wood missing on the left underhorn where it meets the action side? Please confirm. Bill.

Hi bill I’ve got to say I’ve never noticed that before but have just taken a good look and it’s so minute I can’t tell, the picture does enhance it somewhat. Definitely is a lovely gun but to be honest I’m too scared to use it incase it gets damaged.

These are well over £20,000 if ordering one today from AYA
I wish the second hand market was better but alas as it’s not a British gun they don’t hold the same value but I have had Holland and Hollands and quite honestly say there isn’t much between them to the eye.

What are the chokes and barrel length?

Where are you based? As you are using Greenwoods I image somewhere in the south?

Chokes are both open and barrel is 26 this gun was built for grouse but I have used it on some high birds it’s all about cartridge selection. I’m based on the Isle of Wight but I am over Winchester way quite a lot.

I’ve never been into shotguns but this takes me back to the the days when I spent most early Saturday mornings or late afternoons in Gentrys of Welling where one could view a serried bank of such AYA’s if that was your thing.

The gun above really does scream quality and if I needed or wanted a shotgun for the occasional driven or rough shoot I’d be very interested.
