These are excellent. I have one as a back up but have used it on Deer with great results

As always SAKS show themself to be absolute functional and terribly cost effectives. I had this for years in a belt sheat and found gutting blade and saw prefect also for big boars. Then decided to upgrade (embellish) swapping scales for some aftermarket wood's ones and made for e way limited tool. Stupid choose by me.

Ontario RAT 1, in AUS-8 steel.
Reason were - full flat grind, one handed opening 3.5" locking blade, clip can be positioned either left or right hand, tip up/tip down, decent synthetic handle and ergonomics.

Ha! Cracking knife/prybar/chisel I have one in my overalls takes some incredible abuse, Im a HGV fitter and we dont tend to use tools as intended .

Is that kind of folders permitted in GB? I am asking because I did read on limited lenght & not locking for folder if every day carry. here in Italy law is tight on blades but not if you are going hunting (so gun, ammo, license, backpak rtc rtc with you). Only in this case there is no restriction.

Pretty much the same as you describe. You have to have “good reason” to carry anything other than non-locking sub 3” folder.

Well better than here, if not having a good reason (camping, agricultural, fishing trekking or other tasks) you can be persecuted also for the smallest Vic ,(ie executive 3 cm blade). but this does not happen often luckly

Used to have one of those cheap Indian made knives with a bone saw in the glovebox permenatly. It got stolen when the car was broken into but was used once.

Today that's not legal. Buck lightweight on belt, for all rural activities, sometimes when I want to travel light as in the recent hot weather, I leave the stalking belt with knife ez swing blade, bone saw etc etc in the car and it becames main knife.

I took a complete punt and bought one of these from AliExpress for around £22 delivered and was blown away.

Came shaving sharp and did three fallow with it. Quick strop and razor sharp again. Really holds an edge.

Arrived in two weeks.

Comes with a kydex sheath that I attach to my bino harness.

Vic's steel is so sharpening friendly that I with a little effort anyone can make it scary.and although being on the soft side of the scale is capable of holding a good edge. Wat is really valuable (to me) about Saks is the lifetime warranty. experienced in person I dropped a multi blade with a brocken spring at may knife pusher and had it back in in perfect shape.

I've got one thats falling apart from abuse that will be getting sent off to get fixed.

For 10 quid you cant go wrong, and they replace the blades etc

As the less known french DoukDouk original Mercator where and are a real bang for a buck. Fine carbon steel, solid spring opening and closing, nice ergonomy. And with just one hammer hit in the right place the doukdouk could be changed in a real fixed blade weapon by the pieds noir riots.
