Having been the frequent recipient (and occasional donor) of advice that at best amounts to nonsense or at worst could actually be dangerous, I thought it would be instructive to root out the most common bits of recieved wisdom that logic or experience show to be utter tripe.
So: what are your gems of dubious advice - the nuggets of nonsense imparted with great self importance by the guy leaning against the counter in the gun shop?
My favourites to date:
- rubbing yourself with wild garlic will hide your scent so the deer won't smell you.
- zero an inch high at 100 and it'll be dead on at 200.
- never take your moderator off, because the POI will shift each time you take it off and put it back on.
So - add to the fun.
