I have had a Yugo 8mm for some time and fitted it with a Scout Mount from Brasstacker in the US several years ago as my old peepers were getting tired very quickly using the battle sights. This really showed me how even a 4x long eye relief scope could improve the accuracy and extend my enjoyment of the 8mm but I always felt that it would be even better with a conventional scope.
Then I spotted the Badace Scope Mount which like the Brasstacker fixes to the rear sight bracket with a very clever pin and screw system but instead of a scout scope arrangement it is designed to accept a conventional scope. I had tried to order one on several occasions but they were repeatedly on back order until earlier this month so I quickly took the plunge and ordered one on t’internet.
So guess what arrived this very morning? Happy FB - I only ordered the mount 10 days ago after a reassuring chat with Alberta Boy and it arrived this a.m. - all the way from Canada - no hassle ordering or it getting here and it fits really well - rock steady!
So I just wish to record a very big thank you to Badace for their excellent service - I know they do similar mounts for a lot of old military rifles so the Scout Mounted Mosins will be investigated.
I might just go to the range tomorrow….
