Bankruptcy!

People like you baffell me?

You no doubt complain about the state of the NHS and in the same breath you suggest anyone working in the NHS has made a poor carear choice? As obviously to you the best carear choice is not anything to help people or bolster society, but instead the one with the most money?

Your obviously so rich that the failure of the NHS is of no concern to you and care nothing for your fellow man

I havent suggested that people that work for the NHS have made a poor career choice. You have said that, not me.

I actually know plenty of people that work for the NHS that have made excellent career choices.

Dont make false accusations

I might also ask the Tory voters on here why there are no jobs in the coal industry, in the steel industry, in the textile industry, in the spinning industry (my family's business) and etc., etc.. I can walk through vast acres of Leicester and all the mills I knew as a kid, could name as a kid and whose owners' my late father broke bread with as a kid. All are demolished, derelict, turned into flats. It is all gone.

Here's a picture someone else too that I found on the internet "Frog Island, Leicester" of what's left of what my family once did for near on a Century. And the whole area all those jobs, dyers, hosiery and etc., gone.

The jobs that these people did, unskilled, but highly specialised and high earning piece work don't exist anymore in the UK. The same as in the steel industry, the coal industry. Times have moved on, globalisation, health and safety. What's left for kid's now? A 'effin' call centre or a zero hours contract a Pizza King?

Hard cases make bad law as they say. Yes there are some, maybe many, that abuse the system but there are also many people who can't find jobs because they aren't qualified to do anything but that work that has now disappeared to China, to Bangladesh, to Mexico, to Vietnam and etc., etc.. I don't have a problem with them.

And if they think Brexit is going to turn the clock back it isn't. Look inside your shoes, trousers, shirts, jerseys. All once made here and all now made outside the UK and outside the EU. Free Trade with countries outside the EU? They'll skin us alive again as they did before.

Why do you think those things closing are as a result of the Tory party? What an odd assumption to make.

The reason all of those things closed is because it was cheaper to buy from outside the country. Every cheap item of clothing you have bought, or the cheap energy in your home's has caused it.

What brexit will change (it's already begun) is that goods produced inside the country will become more popular as they are essentially cheaper (no import tarrifs) . This in turn will drive our own economy, creating revenues and employment.

Basically all the things that joining the EU stopped by allowing cheap iimports (including labour) often significantly lower stanards.

I can't speak for every food bank in the UK, but the ones I'm involved with in Herefordshire require a referral slip from a caseworker before anything is handed out. Anyone who rocks up claiming to be hungry will be politely shown the door. It's not infallible, there will always be some who take the p*ss, but most folk are trying to do the right thing with a modicum of common sense and compassion. Of course not all charities are so well managed ... Kid's Company anyone? Another triumph of Conservative party policy...

A caseworker? Anyway, let's accept that all the referrals you receive really are from people unable to feed themselves from some honest inability to do the food shopping before going to the bookies. There is still no way they add up to anything like a million people, unless we are expected to believe they are like crocodiles and can survive a year on one good meal.
The Kid's Company was a disgrace and yet another example of the foolhardiness of misdirected public spending.
The essential fact for the purposes of the election is that more public spending or higher tax is not a good thing unless you can be confident that it will be spent wisely. Almost innumerable examples show that too often public money is squandered. Throwing billions more at X priority achieves nothing in itself. There's no good reason why the "extra spending" needed cannot be provided by redirecting wasted public money to necessary programmes. Especially not when so much government spending is basically just signing blank cheques with no accountability - HS2, DFID, NHS drug bills, agency staff, public sector consultants, procurement etc. etc. etc. Not to mention the embedded and stubborn inefficiency. Yes Minister covers it exactly - still as valid as ever. 40yrs later and no real fundamental reform.

More to that one than we're privvy to methinks.

Hey up Enfield, please tell me where to get the free gnashers and specs

Well 4H they say ignorance is bliss. So I'm assuming then that OAPs don't get free plastic gnashers and specs? They don't? Well there's a thing you know I truly though that they did.

Just cant fathom any logic in this post and god knows how you manage to link the Conservative party with the decline of the UK Coal/Steel/Textile industry.Similarly with Brexit and its links to stuff already made outside the EU.

I for one am glad theres no longer the safety net for young people to just walk into a job in a factory. It means that you cant afford to be idle from day 1. It forces people if they want a certain quality of life to study/innovate/move and generally do a better job at life than those who were simply born and died in the same village!!!!

£19.50 to scrape my six remaining gnashers every six months. But hang on, I do get a free eye test and i'm heading towards my free TV licence, pity cos I only watch wildlife programmes. Must go and get my bus pass one day, but we haven't got any buses only 5 miles away, and they don't allow you to carry a couple of Fallow and a rifle with you.

:-D

Poor career choice, clearly.

Don't look for sympathy from the rest of society for your (or her) bad decisions
.

I don't know any other way to read your initial response ?

The people who want to live in the Socialist EU should go and live on the other side of the Channel.

I did say the system wasn't infallible, but an effort is made to ensure that help goes to genuinely needed people. It's not simply handed out to any Tom, Dick or Harriet. The point is that you are simply making massive generalisations. Not everyone on benefits is some sort of scrounger, screwing the system. I think the other point is that I've referenced my experience in supporting the less well off in our society. Of course you may well have even more experience of providing such help to others?

I happen to agree entirely with your views on the lack of accountability on spending - all of which is clearly linked to political grandstanding by whichever party holds the purse strings at any given moment. "Spent wisely"? Hmmm, that really requires folk to have some practical knowledge of what they're talking about and a genuine desire to improve our society rather than just enhance personal bank balances ...

So the "strong and stable" party have just done a massive U turn over the weekend. The leader is now publically saying opposite to what her manifesto and ministers were saying 4 days ago. According to Tory activists this has come about by the leader listening to advisers and acting on this advise rather than debating within the party first.

Whether this is how this massive c**k up has come about is right or not it worries me that this is NOT a reassuring sign of someone who can fight for our own interests without U terming as soon as it gets tough. Obviously, This Lady is for turning!!!

How can anyone now trust a party whose manefesto is untrue and promises in that manefesto are publically broken before the Election.

Kinda proves my point then!
Your daughter's poor career choice is not in the fact she wants to work for the NHS. It's the fact she wants to study a PhD in a subject that doesn't require one! Hence why she can find no employer to sponsor her.

Seriously man, it's not hard to understand!
